Local employment charity Highway to Opportunities (H2O) will be delivering career and leaning advice to Oldham women on Wednesday 27th February at the Pakistani Community Centre whilst hosting a fun packed Asian Milad event.
The event is organised by the Asian Women’s Project at H2O, and aims to engage with the local Asian community delivering job related information advice and guidance in a fun and relaxed environment.
H2O manager Les Crabb explains the purpose of the event: ‘Throughout the year we work with the Asian female community, delivering information, advice and guidance sessions through our outreach bus. This event is a way of engaging with this community on a more informal basis.’
‘Throughout the day we’ll be providing a range of fun activities, such as henna painting, and jewellery stalls. Our Information, advice and guidance specialists will be on hand throughout the day to speak to people about employment, learning and training opportunities.’
‘A talk will be given by Bibi Ji, an influential role model in the Asian Community, who will be speaking to women about the importance of integrating into their wider community, and creating career opportunities outside the home.'
All parents that attend with their children will receive a free reading book gift courtesy of the Early Years Service, designed to encourage mothers to read with their children.
The event is open from 10.00-2.00pm For more information contact Highway to Opportunities 0161 621 9200
